| LOS ANGELES, CA -- Ross W. Thomas, SIOR, a principal of Delphi Business Properties of Van Nuys, CA and a 27-year veteran of industrial real estate specializing in northwest Los Angeles County and Ventura County, was installed as the 34th president of the American Industrial Real Estate Association (AIR) during the group's recent annual meeting. Thomas succeeds Clifford M. Reston of Real Property Advisors. |
| Joining Thomas as new AIR officers for 2002 are W. Bradford Vickrey, Daum Commercial Real Estate Services, Gardena, CA, president-elect; Edward L. Smith, Cushman & Wakefield, Long Beach, CA, vice president/MULTIPLE chair; Becky Blair, Blair Commercial Real Estate, Long Beach, CA, vice president, educational and governmental affairs chair; and I. Hassan, Quantum Associates, Los Angeles, CA, secretary-treasurer. |
| A member of AIR since 1977, Thomas has served on AIR's board of directors for the past seven years. Among his other offices with the association were president-elect, secretary-treasurer, education chair, and arbitration chair. |
| "This is a challenging time for commercial real estate, but I firmly believe current conditions in the industry will be short-lived and we will soon see a distinct upturn. AIR will be committed more than ever during 2002 to providing industrial and commercial real estate professionals with expanding property data and educational direction to succeed," Thomas said. |
| Active in professional affairs, Thomas is a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors and the California Certified Development Corporation. Underscoring his leadership stature, SAN FERNANDO VALLEY BUSINESS JOURNAL honored Thomas in 2001 as one of the "25 Most Influential Business Leaders in the San Fernando Valley", citing him for playing a major role in the San Fernando Valley's industrial property market. |
